Stephen Dupont in Cuba

unnamed

Stephen Dupont has recently returned from Cuba after setting up the exhibition of Piksa Niugini (on from May 21 to early July) in Havana’s Museo Castillo de la Real Fuerza.

The project records his journey through some of Papua New Guinea’s most important cultural and historical zones: the Highlands, Sepik, Bougainville and the capital city Port Moresby. Through images and personal diaries, this remarkable body of work captures the human spirit of the people of Papua New Guinea, one of the world’s last truly wild and unique frontiers.

Piksa Niugini has been co-published by Radius Books and The Peabody Museum Press, get your copy here; and watch Stephen’s interview with the BBC about the project here.
